The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres set ablaze three vehicles engaged in road construction in Phulbagadi area in Keralapal in Vananchal region in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on April 30, reports ibc24.in. After the incident, three laborers were rescued safely and brought to Phulbagdi Police Station.
Three cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including two women, identified as Ranu Usendi (30), Lachhanti Poyam (30) and Asmati Kuhrami (25), who were allegedly involved in offences like triggering Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts, were arrested during an operation conducted by a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), the District Police and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), in Tekanar village in Narayanpur Tehsil (revenue unit) in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on April 30, reports The Print. The arrested Maoists were involved in planting an IED on January 30, 2023, in the forests of Tekanar. They had also triggered an IED blast in the forests of Hikapulla and damaged the road connecting Orchha to Dhanora on Wednesday (April 26), the Police said, adding that cases were registered against them in this connection at Dhanora Police Station.
On April 28, four cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) surrendered under the ‘Puna Nakom Abhiyan’ before the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Civil Police in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh, reports The Print. In a statement, the CRPF said, “The surrendered Maoists cadres have been identified as Gaddon Ramesh (DAKMS member), Kursam Bhima (Militia Member), Madkam Saara (President Janathan Sarkar Sakler RPC), Madvi Ganga (Militia Member).” All surrendered cadres are residents of Kistaram, Sukma and were active for the last 4-5 years.
