Minister of Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan held a meeting with top Islamic scholars of the country at his Dhanmondi residence in the capital Dhaka city on December 14, reports New Age. The Minister held the meeting in the backdrop of a section of Islamic leaders oppose of installing the sculpture of the country’s founding President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman since mid-November, vandalizing of one of his sculptures in Kushtia on December 5. Different political, socio-cultural and professional organisations also held a countrywide protest against the anti-sculpture moves in the past few days.
