Wanted Islamic preacher Zakir Naik is suspectedly funding a new terror alliance to launch attacks in India around January 26, 2021 says an intel report from Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), Times Now reports on December 14. The report further claims that members of Popular Front of India (PFI) are conspiring with some Rohingyas to carry out the attacks in multiple Indian cities. According to R&AW intel note PFI elements with the support of some Rohingyas are conspiring to launch terror attacks/blasts in India before January 26, 2021. Places that are likely to be targeted by them are Delhi, Ayodhya, Bodhgaya, Srinagar, Chandigarh and a major city in West Bengal. Input further reveals that a Malaysia-based Rohingya group is providing financial support for the same. The estimated expenditure of around USD 2,00,000 for the above is being mobilised by Zakir Naik and one Mohammad Naseer, a Malaysia-based Rohingya leader. A Chennai-based operative is said to be involved in receiving the said funds from abroad. Naik is wanted by Indian authorities since 2016 on charges of money laundering and inciting extremism through hate speeches.
