The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on October 29 (Today) conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. It could not be immediately ascertained in which case these raids are being carried out. The officials, however, said raids by NIA officials with the assistance of Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were carried in several Districts of J&K.
Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah who was in Jammu and Kashmir on October 28 told officials to focus on ‘ending militancy’ or ‘take transfer’, reports News18. According to the report, Shah warned officials after a detailed review of the security situation in J&K during his maiden visit to the valley since the Centre’s Article 370 move in 2019. “Don’t bother about welfare… that we will see (if) you work on finishing militancy. We have zero-tolerance for militancy in the valley,” a senior J&K officer quoted Shah as saying.
