On October 28, three militants of Nikki Sumi-led faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K-NS) were arrested for allegedly involved in blank firing in four different locations in Dimapur District of Nagaland, reports News 18. According to Police sources, a complaint was registered in West police station regarding blank firing at three different locations – Nepali Basti, Residency Colony and Notun Bosti in between 1.25 am to 1.38 am. Later, that day, another incident of firing was reported at Landmark Colony. Based on the information and CCTV footage, a search operation was launched and a suspected vehicle carrying the three militants was apprehended. The three militants were identified as Nikato Pilot Sumi, supervisor of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board and kilonser (minister), Awang Konyak, self-styled ‘sergeant major’, and Wahkoi Konyak, self-styled ‘sergeant major’. HK 33 rifle, two magazines of HK 33 rifle, one Italy-made 7.65mm pistol, one magazine of 7.65mm pistol, one magazine of 9mm pistol, 117 live rounds of HK 33 rifle, 17 live rounds of 7.65mm pistol, six empty cases of HK 33 rifle, two empty cases of 7.65 mm pistol, one rifle sling, one knife and INR 1,82,700 in cash were recovered from them.
