On December 23, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 14 locations across Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in a case related to spread of terrorist activities by various proscribed outfits, reported from NIA press release. The case relates to a criminal conspiracy for carrying out terrorist and subversive activities that was devised by the cadres and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) of several proscribed organisations and their affiliations, acting under various pseudonym at the behest of their Pakistani commanders/handlers. They are involved in carrying out terrorist activities in J&K via cyberspace, targeting minorities and security personnel and causing communal disharmony. The NIA Police Station in Jammu, J&K, registered the case as RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU on June 21, 2022. Various incriminating materials were recovered from the searched premises, including digital devices, SIM cards, and digital storage devices, among others.
