On December 24, Security Forces (SFs) arrested two militants, identified as Imad Amin Chopan alias Chita bhai and Tahir Ahmad Bhat alias Tiger, of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), from Bandipora District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Outlook India. One China-made pistol, a magazine and some rounds, a Chinese grenade and detonators were recovered from them. They were tasked by their handlers in acquiring arms and ammunition ‘to revive TRF module in south Kashmir’, officials added.
On December 24, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) neutralized Pakistan-linked drug module and arrested 17 people in Kupwara District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Hindustan Times. The arrested people included five police officers.Two packets weighing close to two kilograms of Heroin like narcotics substance were also recovered from them.
On December 23, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) filed a charge-sheet against four Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) associates, identified as Talib Hussain, Mohd Shabir, Mohd Sadiq, and Mohd Qasim alias Sulemanm in National Investigation Agency (NIA) court at Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The Chargesheet has been filed under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosive Substance Act (ESA). Among the suspects, Mohd Qasim alias Suleman, who crossed the border illegally in 2002 and is now in Pakistan, is suspected of spreading terrorism in the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley in J&K by establishing contacts with locals through drone droppings and bringing consignments of illicit weapons and ammunition across the border.
