A cadre of Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Vishal Kumar Sinha, was injured and arrested by the Police after a brief exchange of fire in Dombatoli forest in Gumla District of Jharkhand on June 19, reports The Times of India. The Superintendent of Police (SP) Hrudeep P. Janaradhan said, the PLFI cadres opened fire at a joint team of Security Forces (SFs) who were out on a search operation. When the SFs returned the fire, the PLFI cadre was injured and subsequently arrested. Sinha, a resident of Palkot’s Bazar Tand area in the District, was a migrant worker, who returned to his village from Surat District of Gujarat last month and joined PLFI. He was lured into the rebel outfit by its self-acclaimed ‘sub-zonal commander’ Parameshwar Gope, said the Police officials.
