Police have taken into custody a person who is suspected to be a member of the urban structure of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) at Sultan Bathery in Wayanad District of Kerala on November 16, reports The Times of India. The detained suspected Maoist was identified as T K Rajeevan, hailing from Pookode in Kannur, who had a long-pending warrant against him for taking part in the attack on a bank in Wayanad in 2002 by the Ayanikkal Pada. Ayyankali Pada was the frontal organization of the Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist-Naxalbari (CPI-ML-Naxalbari), a splinter Naxalite [Left Wing extremism, LWE] group in Kerala. Rajeevan is suspected to be the state committee member of the organization. CPI-ML-Naxalbari merged with CPI-Maoist in 2014 and Rajeevan became the member of the new outfit.
