A joint team of District Police and Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF’s) 60 battalion destroyed a camp of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist)and arrested a cadre in Sinko forests under Bandhgaon Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on January 18, reports The Times of India. As per the report, on receiving a tip off about the presence of the PLFI cadres in the said forest, the Security Forces (SFs) had launched an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation. As soon as the SFs reached the forest, cadres of PLFI fired shots at them leading to an exchange of fire. "The exchange of fire lasted for about 20 minutes, resulting in the extremists fleeing from their camp. We have arrested a rebel and our interrogation is on to ascertain his identity and his involvement in extremist activities," said the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Pranav Anand adding that SFs recovered a 9mm pistol, a single barrel gun and a few cartridges, besides items of daily use from the PLFI camp.
