Security Forces (SFs) neutralised seven Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) hideouts in Abujhmaad region in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, reports The Pioneer on February 26. On February 25, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bastar, Sundarraj P, said, “In the last three days [February 22-24], seven Naxalite [Left Wing Extremist, LWE] hideouts were demolished.” The IGP said the District Reserve Group (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Border Security Force (BSF) launched operation ‘Sangam’ on the tri-junction of Narayanpur, Kanker and Gadchiroli Districts near the Maharashtra border. Huge quantities of arms, ammunition, camping materials and medicines were recovered from the hideouts, suspected to have been occupied by senior cadres of the North Bastar and Maad Division of DKSZC (Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee).
