Sri Lanka ‘categorically’ rejected the report presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) at the 46th session in Geneva on February 24 and called on the members of the Council to reject any resolution based on the report, reports Colombo Page. Delivering a statement at the Interactive Dialogue on the OHCHR Report ‘Promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka’ (A/HRC/46/20) Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena noted that the OHCHR Report emanates from the Resolution 30/1 and 40/1, from which the Government of Sri Lanka announced its withdrawal of co-sponsorship, at the 43rd Session of the Council in 2020.
