Six students’ unions on November 17 demanded immediate withdrawal of price hike, reports Republica. The six students’ unions have also handed over a memorandum to the Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies demanding immediate withdrawal of the hike made in the prices of petroleum products. “The attention of the United Students' Organization has been drawn to the fact that the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has become irresponsible towards the basic needs of the people by increasing the prices of petrol by Rs 3, diesel by Rs 3, kerosene by Rs 3, aviation fuel by Rs 5 and LPG by Rs 75 within 12 days period,” reads the joint memorandum submitted by the students’ unions.
