Officials from the Directorate of the Prison Administration said that the Taliban has released over 1,000 prisoners from jails after the militant group has recently captured cities in the past few days, reports Tolo News on August 11. However, numbers gathered by Tolo News indicate that up to 1000 prisoners were released just from Kunduz city in Kunduz Province and Zaranj city in Nimruz Province, and that 200 of these were Taliban.
