Deputy Solicitor General (DSG) Dileepa Peiris testifying before the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC), probing the Easter Sunday carnage, said that the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) was empowered to arrest suspected terroristswithout Department of Attorney General’ (DAG)s advice, reports Island. DSG Peiris on July 31 found fault with the TID for waiting for instructions from the DAG without arresting terrorists connected to the National Thowheed Jamaath (NTJ).
