Three women cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) identified as Marri Valasi alias Rame alias Bharati alias Lalitha, Vanatala Lakshmi alias Sangeth, and Korradevi alias Sita were arrested by Mampa Police in Koyyuru Mandal (administrative sub-division) in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh on December 6, reports The New Indian Express. While Valasi carried a INR 400,000 reward the others carried INR 100,000 rewards each. Valasi joined the ‘bal sangham’ (children squad) of Maoists in 2004. Later, she was promoted as an ‘area committee member, ACM’ of Galikonda Dalam (armed squad) in 2016.
