On December 21, two civilians identified as village headman Chopkhu Gangsa and village chief Chijgsan Wangham, who were abducted by around 15 suspected militants of the Ang Mai faction of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) from Chop Village in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh were released by the outfit, reports Northeast Now. Longding Superintendent of Police (SP) Dekio Gumja stated that the duo was kidnapped allegedly for not paying a levy of INR 50,000 to the outfit and were reportedly taken to Longpa village in Myanmar.
