In a joint operation, the District Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have arrested two cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Rohit Rai alias Prakash alias Dharmaraj Mor, and Pramod Yadav, from Pema village in Aurangabad District of Bihar on August 7, reports argusenglish.in. Rohit is a resident of Lathibar village in Bhabua block of Kaimur District, while Pramod is a native of Sosuna village under Badeya Police Station in Gaya District. The joint team also recovered a loaded revolver (Sixer), a country made gun 'katta', 16 live cartridges, a booklet and a bike from the possession of the arrested cadres. Aurangabad’s Superintendent of Police (SP), Swapna Ji Meshram, said, “The interrogation process is currently in progress. Firearms and other significant evidence have been seized. The apprehended Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operatives were active in extortion activities within Aurangabad. Our focus is on uncovering the sources of their financial support.”
