Security Forces (SFs) arrested a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Rakesh Oran, and seized 55 detonators, and a country-made pistol from his possession in Gumla District of Jharkhand on September 19, reports sify.com. As per an official statement of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the troops of 218 Battalion of CRPF and Jharkhand Police arrested Maoist Rakesh Oran, who is a ‘Dasta’ (squad) member of the (CPI-Maoist), during patrolling in Gumla. "Arms and explosives including one desi pistol, 50 non-electric detonators, 5 electric detonators, other articles used in making IEDs [Improvised Explosive Devices] were recovered in the operation," the statement added.
Meanwhile, a special Police team arrested a Naxalite [Left Wing Extremist, LWE] belonging to the Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), from Palamu District of Jharkhand, reports devdiscourse.com on September 20. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Hussainabad, Pujya Prakash said the special Police team arrested Ajay Paswan (25) from the Hira Sikni area on September 19. The SDPO said Paswan was in the area to collect extortion money. He was wanted by Police in a number of cases, Prakash said.
