Two Special Police Officers (SPOs) sustained injuries when suspected militants lobbed a grenade on Police post near Bus Stand in Sopore area in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on March 13, reports Daily Excelsior. Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants, Official sources said.
A gunfight broke out between militants and Security Forces (SFs) in Rawalpora area in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on March 13, reports Daily Excelsior. A joint team of Police, Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. Officials said, as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. A senior Police officer confirmed the exchange of fire while sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
