Two Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were killed during an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in the vicinity of Patni Police Station in Sukkur District of Sindh on February 27, reports ARY News. The CTD in-charge told the media that a raid was conducted on a tip-off to arrest two militants of TTP. After an exchange of fire, the militants were arrested in injured condition by the CTD’s raiding team. They were shifted to a hospital immediately after being arrested, however, they succumbed to wounds during the treatment, said CTD. The militants were identified as Wilayat and Shah Mehmood.
Meanwhile, the Rangers and police carried out a joint operation on February 28 and arrested two persons suspected of killing a Police constable, Sheraz Khan (30) on February 18, reports The Express Tribune. Earlier, SATP reported that as Sheraz, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in an incident of target killing in SITE Town area of Karachi. According to Police, Sheraz, was going through Metroville SITE on his motorcycle when unidentified assailants intercepted him and opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
