On January 12, a Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) militant was reported abducted and later on shot dead by another rival militant outfit in between Awangkhul and Warngkhung under Noney Police Station (PS) of Noney District in Manipur, reports The Nagaland Post. Police recovered the dead body of the militant identified as Pouluanthai Gangmei along an empty case of the 9mm pistol.
ZUF in a press release later on strongly condemning the incident claimed that National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) militants have killed Pouluanthai, reports The Sangai Express on January 16.
Earlier, a Kuki National Front-Presidential (KNF-P) militant was arrested along with one 9mm pistol from Imphal West District on January 14, reports United News of India.
