According to media reports, the plan to strike at the Governor’s convoy was unearthed when security forces intercepted a wireless message of the terrorists. According to the plot, the attack was to have been carried out at a spot between Kangvai and Kwakta during his return to Imphal, capital city of the State, from Churachandpur district. Following interception of the message, reinforcements were rushed to the area and security personnel were deployed all along the route.
