National Investigation Agency (NIA) on March 6 filed a supplementary charge sheet in a case registered against the militant group United National Liberation Front (UNLF) at the NIA special court in Guwahati.. Three of those charge sheeted are Y. Brojobidhu Singh, N. Bomi Singh, A. Ibomcha Singh the trio are lodged in Guwahati Central Jail following their arrest from Manipur in January 2012.These three were office-holders of a registered society called the Association for Extensive Growers Innovative Service (AEGIS) in Manipur, where the UNLF had allegedly invested the money they had extorted from individuals and business houses. The three absconding accused in the case are N. Nardip Singh alias Thabal, C.H. Tanil alias Nabachandra and L. Iwanthaba alias Nanao Singh.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court on August 10 sentenced Samir Ahmed to three years of rigorous imprisonment for his involvement in INR 1000 crore NC Hills fraud, reports The Telegraph. The court found Ahmed guilty under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in the NIA case number 01/2009. This was the first case registered by the agency since it came into existence in January 2009. It had registered the case during investigation of allegations about diversion of Government funds released to Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) to militant coffers of Black Widow (BW).
