According to Informal Sector Service Centre's Eastern Regional Office, Sapkota died due to asthma at Rajarani in the Dhankuta district. According to a Ministry of Defense press release, two civilians, three security force (SF) personnel and four Maoists were killed during the incident. The Maoists also set free all 103 prisoners, including 32 insurgents, after attacking the District Prison. 16 prisoners have reportedly come into contact with the administration so far, the statement added. SFs recovered one SLR, two .303 rifles, socket bombs and other explosives from the incident site. As reported earlier, the clashes erupted after the insurgents launched an attack at the district headquarters of Ilam targeting the District Prison Office, District Administration Office, District Police Office, the Army base and other Government offices on March 5. The fighting lasted till 1:30 a.m. on March 6. Unconfirmed reports said that 31 Maoists were killed during the attack.
