33 Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres including ‘militia’ and ‘village committee’ members surrendered before the Security Forces (SFs) in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on November 23, reports The Times of India. The Superintendent of Police (SP), Sunil Dutt said the surrendered Maoists belonged to Battinapalli and Kishtarampadu villages in Cherla Mandal (administrative sub-division) of the District. Of the 33 members, 25 are farmers from the Koya community in Battinapalli village. The remaining eight are from Kistarampadu village, but are natives of Sukma District in Chhattisgarh. The SP said that the surrendered have joined the CPI-Maoist and are working for the Maoists’ Cherla’ area committee secretary’ Aruna, for two years.
