A large contingent of Police force on December 17 launched a massive combing operation in the forested areas straddling the Bhadradri-Kothagudem-Mulugu-Mahabubabad Districts of Telangana following specific information about the movement of an armed squad of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in the forest region, reports The Hindu.
Acting on credible information that the rebels led by the senior Maoist leader Bade Chokka Rao aka Damodar were moving in forest areas of Gundala, Karakagudem, Bayyaram, Pasra, Tadvai, Gangaram and Mangapeta Mandals (administrative sub-divisions), a massive search operation has been launched in the forest belt to track down the rebels, said Bhadradri-Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt.
