Unidentified miscreants have vandalized the statue of anti-British revolutionary leader, Bagha Jatin, at Kaya College in Kushtia District of Khulna Division on December 18, reports Dhaka Tribune. Jatindranath Mukhopaddhay, popularly known as Bagha Jatin, was a leader of Jugantar Dal, a secret organization of Bengal which struggled for Liberation from British colonizers. Jatin was born in Kushtia's Kaya village in 1879. He made significant contributions in armed conflicts against the British rulers. On September 10, 1915, the 36-year-old succumbed to bullet injuries at a Balasore hospital following a battle with the British.
