The dead body of a militant, identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar, was recovered from Awantipora area in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on February 6, reports Daily Excelsior. Dar, was earlier injured in the encounter on January 21 that took place at Zantrag forest in Awantipora in which two Security Force (SF) personnel and one Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant were killed, and Dar, had escaped from the custody in injured condition. With the recovery, the death toll in encounter at Pulwama in J&K rises to four. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had reported the encounter with the militants in Khrew area in Pampore town in Pulwama District of J&K on January 21.
In a separate incident, militants threw a grenade at Police in Lal Bazar area in Srinagar District of J&K on February 6, reports Daily Excelsior. However, there was no causality in the grenade attack.
