Eight cadres belonging to the various factions of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) surrendered before a joint team of the Arunachal Pradesh Police and the Assam Rifles (AR) in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh on April 13, reports East Mojo. According to sources, altogether five cadres from Yung Aung faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-KYA) and three cadres from Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Reformation (NSCN-R) surrendered before the joint team of Security Forces (SFs) headed by the Longding, Superintendent of Police (SP), Vikram Harimohan Meena. The surrendered cadres, some of who were holding influential positions, were engaged in extortion and collection of taxes, were identified as ‘self-styled Lance Corporal’ Nyaipho Gangsa (33), ‘self-styled Private’ Bowgang Gangsa (38), ‘self-styled Sergeant’ Wangkiak Wangsa (25), ‘self-styled Private’ Alem Wangpan (30), ‘self-styled Private’ Banthak Wangpan (32), ‘self-styled Sergeant’ Khuapoh Wangpan (27), ‘self-styled Corporal’ Nokthat Wangpan and Wangjep Wangsu (27).
