An encounter took place between the Police and cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in the adjacent Dhandarwa forest near Jhumra Hills under Gomia Police Station limits in Bokaro District of Jharkhand on January 24, reports ibc24.in. Following information that a squad of Maoist leader Mithilesh Singh alias Duryodhan Mahto alias Barka Da, who is carrying a reward of INR 10 million, has gathered in the foothills of Jhumra hills, and in the process of carrying out some major incident, the Bokaro District Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel jointly launched the operation, adds prabhatkhabar.com. On seeing the Police, the squad of Mithilesh Singh started firing, to which the Police force also challenged and retaliated. However, there is no report of any casualty in the encounter.
