Members of the Bangladesh Army arrested five persons and confiscated a number of arms and ammunition during a special drive in Guimara Upazila (sub-district) in Khagrachhari District in Chittagong Hills Tract (CHT) region on February 25, reports Dhaka Tribune. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) sources, the drive was conducted in Bottola in Dhaka division and South Kanchan Nagar in Chittagong District, based on secret information. An AK-47 rifle (seven rounds of ammunition and 1 magazine), one M1 rifle (magazine filled with 24 rounds of ammunition), one AK-22 rifle (approximately 200 rounds of ammunition), four mortars, one 7.65 mm pistol, one long barrel rifle and a large quantity of improvised explosive device (IED) equipment and used uniforms were recovered in the drive.
