The Tarn Taran Police on September 4, arrested four smugglers and alleged accomplices of the five Pakistani intruders, who were shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel near Dall International Border (IB) outpost in Tarn Taran District on August 22, reports The Tribune. The arrested accomplices have been identified as, Gurbir Singh and Gurbax Singh, both residents of Dall village, and Yudhvir Singh and Gurpreet Singh of Dhunda village in the District. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dhruman Nimbale said during the forensic examination of the mobiles seized from the Pakistani intruders, it was found that the accused had interacted with the intruders before they were shot by the BSF troopers.
A senior official privy to the investigations said the four used to retrieve the narcotics consignments from the IB and later handed it over to their links as per the instructions. They used to get INR 20,000 to INR 60,000 per consignment, depending on the quantity retrieved, the official said.
