Four women aid workers were shot dead by unidentified assailants on February 22 in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports Dawn. The aid workers were ambushed by two assailants as they were driving through a village in Mir Ali. One passenger survived the assault. The driver of the vehicle was also injured in the attack. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The aid workers were affiliated with a programme run by a local institute to develop household skills for women.
