The Chhattisgarh Police has registered a fresh FIR in connection with the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) attack in Jheeram valley of Darbha region of Sukma District on May 25, 2013, in which 28 persons including frontline Congress leaders of State were killed, reports The Times of India on May 27. The FIR has been filed against unknown persons on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy. The Bastar range Inspector General of Police P. Sundarraj said, “A case was registered against unknown persons on Tuesday night under Sections 302 and 120 (B) of the IPC based on the complaint of Jitendra Mudaliyar, the son of slain Congress leader Uday Mudaliyar who died in the attack. The complaint was filed on May 25 following which, the FIR was lodged.” Jitendra Mudaliyar in his complaint has alleged criminal conspiracy in the deadly Maoist attack that killed his father among other Congress leaders including Mahendra Karma, Nand Kumar Patel, and V.C. Shukla.
