The Bathinda Police busted an international drug trafficking gang and arrested four accused persons – identified as Bikkar Singh of Paras Ram Nagar, Bathinda; Tara Chand Parik of Ludhiana, Simarjeet Singh alias Simar and Harminder Singh alias Gullu, both of Amritsar - and seized drug money of INR 1.78 crore from them, Tribune India reports on January 30. Police said the accused used to order Heroin from Pakistan through drones and collect the drug money to send it to the international trafficker Kendraveer Singh alias Sunny Dayal, who is staying in the United States, through hawala.
On January 28, the Amritsar (Rural) police arrested a commission agent among two persons and seized one kilograms of Heroin from their possession, reports Tribune India. Those arrested were identified as Germanjit Singh alias Brahman and Akashdeep Singh alias Khatti, both residents of Dhanoe Khurd village falling under the Gharinda police station. Police received a tip-off that the duo were involved in cross-border drug smuggling through drone and were going from Dhanoe Khurd village to Attari in a car. They were arrested at a naka. On their disclosure, the police raided Germanjit’s residence. He had hidden the contraband after digging a pit which was confiscated. “Germanjit has smuggled several consignments of drugs through his links in Pakistan. Investigation is in progress to identify his backward and forward links. More recovery of drug is likely during further probe,” Police said.
On January 26, the Amritsar (Rural) police seized narcotics smuggled from Pakistan, reports Tribune India. Police that Mahinder Singh of Bhagupur Bet village had links with Pakistan-based smugglers and was involved in cross-border drug peddling through drones. Mahinder had hidden 1.6 kilograms of Heroin in the cattle shed of his house situated on the Vehra road.
On January 25-26, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Special Task Force (STF) Amritsar recovered suspected Heroin, arms and ammunition from a house in Deriwal Kiran village of Gurdaspur District, reports ANI. On specific information of BSF, a joint raid was conducted on the house of a suspect in Deriwal Kiran village in Gurdaspur. The Security Forces first recovered six small plastic boxes suspected to contain Heroin (gross weight - approximately 100 grams) along with 13 live rounds of .32 bore. Another raid was conducted at the house of another suspect in village Uppal in Gurdaspur. During the raid, one gun (PAG type), 10 rounds, one round of .32 bore, and one pistol were recovered.
