A family of Dabuguda village in Malkangiri District of Odisha on October 20, had to leave their own land, property and other near and dear ones in fear of cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), reports Odisha TV. As per reports, a hardcore Maoist ‘commander’ Rakesh was killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in Dabuguda a few weeks ago following which Maoists allegedly set up a kangaroo court and blamed the family of acting as ‘police informer’. Later, the Maoists not only beat up the family members but also ransacked their house. The Maoists also reportedly barred the family members from reaping their own crops in the farmland. After repeated life threats from the Maoists, all 13 members of the family finally left the village recently to settle at Kudumulugumma area.
