The issue with the appointment of ministers and state ministers is not the matter where expenditure is involved, but what matters is the appointment of illegible people, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) member of Parliament (MP) Eran Wickramaratne said September 11, reports Daily Mirror. MP Wickramaratne told a media conference that the issue today with Sri Lanka is the conflicts of interest of those who have been appointed as ministers. "No one who is engaged in businesses should be appointed as ministers as the information they gather from the cabinet and the government as a whole, will be used to develop their businesses. Therefore, if anyone engaged in business appointed as ministers should resign," he said, adding, "Also the qualifications and eligibilities for a minister should be included in the constitution. Also the subjects of ministries should also be included in the constitution. The subjects of cabinet should not change when heads of state change." He said one should not focus on the expenditure involved with cabinet alone as there are host of other issues with regard to the cabinet in Sri Lanka.
