No United Nations (UN) or other resolutions inimical to Sri Lanka succeeded during his tenure as the Foreign Minister, former Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said while testifying before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing alleged human rights violations, serious violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and other such offences in Sri Lanka on July 26, reports Daily News. “During my tenure as Foreign Minister, I witnessed a joint statement with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2009 and signed the Joint Statement on behalf of the Government,” Bogollagama said. He further noted that they had signed the joint statement after recognizing the need to address the reconciliation methods and accountability in terms of a fully domestic process. He reiterated that no inimical UN resolution has succeeded during his tenure. The pro-Sri Lanka UN resolution moved by Sri Lanka and other countries immediately after the end of the humanitarian operation succeeded.
