The Prosecutor General’s office on October 15 withdrew obstruction charges against 12 [unnamed] Opposition politicians alleged to scaled the security barricades to enter the People’s Majlis (Maldives Parliament) in 2017, reports Maldives Independent. The President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was amongst the dozen lawmakers who were on trial, but the charges were dropped against the opposition Parliamentary leader before he [Solih] contested and won the Presidential election on September 23, 2018.
