An exchange of firetook place between Security Forces (SFs) and the cadres of People Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Manmaru forest under Bandhgaon Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on November 27, reports The Pioneer. Acting on a tip off about the presence of PLFI leaders – Kishan Gope and Jidan Gudiya in the said forest, the SFs launched an operation and when the SFs surrounded the rebels, a gun-battle started. Although the rebels managed to escape, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Rajiv Ranjan Singh said “after search operation, we found blood stains at the area and we suspect a few ultras might have been injured. However, we have not recovered anybody so far. However, we have recovered ammunition like MG rifle, .315 rifle, 6 country-made 9 mm pistol and 169 cartridges.”
