The Security Forces (SFs) recovered two Improvised Explosive Device (IED)-fitted arrows and two can-bombs after an exchange of firewith Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in a forested area of Kedabir under Sonuwa Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on April 9, reports Outlook India. According to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Inderjit Mahata, on receiving information about the presence of the Maoist squad led by Lodaro Lohar in the said forest, the personnel comprising the jawans (troopers) of District Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) surrounded the area. The Maoists began indiscriminate firing after they sighted the SFs and a gun-battle ensued. No casualty was reported in the encounter as the Maoists retreated into the forest leaving behind the explosives.
