Four civilians and two security personnel were injured in a grenade attack in Budgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on May 5, reports The Hindu. Militants lobbed a grenade towards the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel manning the Pakherpora market, in which a Policeman and a CRPF trooper were among the injured, Police officials said, adding, one woman was also among the four injured civilians.
Meanwhile, a militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) was arrested in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on May 5, reports Daily Excelsior. Acting on an information about one suspected militant in Tanta village, Police, along with the Army and CRPF launched a joint operation in the area, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mumtaz Ahmad said, adding during the operation, the militant tried to escape from cordon and was arrested after a chase. On his questioning, he was identified as Tanveer Malik, a militant of HM and one Chinese pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition was recovered from him. He was reportedly missing from home since February 9 this year (2020) and his missing report was lodged at the Doda Police Station, the SSP Doda said.
