Sri Lanka Army released another 20 acres of land in Jaffna in Jaffna District of Northern Province, used by the Army for service requirements on March 4, reports Colombo Page. The Army has released a total of 19.72 acres in Myliddy north and east inside the Palaly Army Cantonment and a portion adjoining it on March 4. A small portion (0.25 acres) of the released land in Myliddy belongs to the State while the remainder is owned by private owners. Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces (SFs) - Jaffna, symbolizing the formal release of the lands, handed over relevant documents to the District Secretary for Jaffna, N. Vethanayahan in the presence of State officials and land owners during a simple symbolic ceremony held at the Thelippalai Divisional Secretariat on March 4.
