Day after Al Qaeda suspect Salman Wani was arrested from Ramban area of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) by Uttar Pradesh (UP) Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), his interrogation revealed explosive details about a sleeper cell network straddling west Uttar Pradesh and Kashmir, The Times of India reports on June 24. He was earlier arrested from Ramban in June 21. Wani and his ideological mentor Inamul Haq, who was arrested of his Bareilly hideout on June 18, 2020, were allegedly radicalising jobless youths in J&K and west UP to create a jihadist outfit and fill the vacuum of Zakir Musa, slain ‘founder’ and ‘commander’ of the Indian wing of the Al Qaeda.
