A three-day meeting between the representatives of the Afghan Government, the Taliban, the United States, and several foreign countries to discuss the Afghan peace process started in Doha the capital of Qatar, reports Ariana News on August 10. Notably, the meeting comes at a time of intensified clashes between the Afghan Security Forces and the militants across Afghanistan. The Afghan delegation includes Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister for Peace Affairs, and Chief Negotiator Masoom Stanekzai. Special Representatives of the United Nations, Qatar, United States, United Kingdom, European Union, China, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan are also participating in the meeting.
