The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) issued a statement announcing the resolution of past “differences” between the TTP central and its key faction, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JUA), The Khorasan Diary reported on March 11. The statement while officially acknowledging the disagreements between JuA and the TTP, has outlined a plan for restructuring the organization to accommodate JuA. Notably, several prominent JuA leaders have been reinstated in the new TTP organizational structure by giving them key positions. Mukarram Khorasani was appointed head of military commission of the Northern Zone. Sarbakaf Mohmand was appointed as part of the political commission. Asad Afridi was appointed as deputy head of Kohat shadow province. Salman Mohmand was appointed as head of the economy section of the Peshawar shadow province. Qasim Khorasani was appointed as member of the council of the Quetta shadow province.
