Two members of a newly formed militant outfit, Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya have been arrested in two separate locations of Dhaka, the capital city Sylhet in Sylhet District, said the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) on December 22, reports The Daily Star. The arrestees identified as Saiful Islam Tuhin, a former madrasa (Islamic Seminary) student in Sylhet, and Nayeem Hossain, a student of Agriculture Training Institute in Dhaka’s Agargaon, earlier averted a crackdown by the law enforcers in Bandarban, said CTTC unit officials. The arrestees stayed at different camps in Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) for about a year with other accomplices. Separatist group Kuki National Front (KNF) members and the militant group's local associates trained 12 of them for a month. They were given training on firearms, said the CTTC official.
