On May 5, a Rohingya man, identified as Noor Kalam was hacked to death after being abducted by armed assailants from a refugee camp in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) in Cox’s Bazar District of Chittagong Division, reports The Daily Star. Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Shamim Hossain confirmed this and stated that the killing is primarily believed to have taken place over disputes centring on drug trafficking and establishing supremacy in the camp.
On May 5, a Rohingya man, identified as Zafar Ahmad was shot dead in Camp No. 20 in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) in Cox’s Bazar of Chittagong Division, reports Dhaka Tribune. Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Shamim Hossain confirmed this killing and said that Zafar was abducted from his second wife's house, and shot dead by armed men.
