Two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, identified as Pradeep Singh Bhokta alias Neeraj and Dinesh Bhuiyan alias Umesh alias Mitthu, surrendered with firearms and ammunition before Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ashish Bharti, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) paramilitary units in Gaya District of Bihar on May 12, reports Hindustan Times. Police said both surrenderees were wanted in over 12 cases of attacks in Bihar and Jharkhand and had been evading arrest for a long time. "They were also involved in the killing of CRPF jawan Raushan Kumar during one such encounter in 2019," Bharti added. The Maoists surrendered a.303 rifle, a thurnet gun (a type of improvised submachine gun), and several rounds of ammunition, including 57 rounds of 7.67mm.
